Heaven grants her a wish to change her reality and sends with her a guardian angel, Raphael (John Rhys-Davies), who supports her until the wish is granted. However, fate sends criminals who try to understand what is happening, and they pursue them. Then she meets a man, Joshua (Diego Boneta), who helps her get rid of them because he has fallen in love with her, and from here the events become intertwined.

Captivating scenes

The film blends many of its scenes with enchanting, soothing music, which significantly deepens the emotional impact of each scene and continues to do so until the very end.

The film addresses the theme of losing loved ones, emphasizing the need to move on with life and to hope for a change that brings happiness. This is beautifully linked to the wishes we had as children upon seeing a bright star, a meteor, or a shooting star streaking across the Earth's surface, creating a remarkably uplifting and positive atmosphere.

The film continues to reinforce these positive emotions by introducing love into Aisling's life, while simultaneously weaving a thread of deprivation. These two elements intersect at a certain point in the film, a premise that teaches us something crucial: life is always a give and take, but we must maintain our respect for and faith in our courageous decisions, which may cost us dearly, but ultimately, they will enrich us.

Please don't forget that it's a fantasy movie, so it was exactly what that genre was supposed to be. Don't ask about any missing logic or a slightly weak plot, because the film's enjoyment was undeniable, along with its intended message.

Yes, the film's criminal characters were bland and even naive, but they weren't the main challenge. The real challenge was the courage required to make the decisions needed to protect those closest to them, decisions that also meant losing some of them.

The film's brilliance lay in the positive energy it constantly conveyed, the vibrant emotions and love, and even the admirable sacrifices.

The visual effects were absolutely stunning, giving me a pleasant feeling reminiscent of classic films that captivated audiences of all ages with their enchanting scenes.

It cannot be said that the film was completely outstanding, but it was pleasing to the soul, filling the heart, and leaving a beautiful impression.

Strange transformation

The strange transformation in the criminal's character, from a desire to seize a great prize to trying to protect Aisling from his colleagues, puzzled me most and spoiled my enjoyment of the film. I couldn't find any logical reason for it; he simply wanted to change suddenly and become a good man.

Raphael's transformation was also unjustified. He suddenly shielded Aisling with his body, even though he shouldn't have interfered with the natural course of events. It was there to provide a strong, dramatic element and to justify the desired change of heart.

The final fight also featured strange and disjointed twists, but as I mentioned earlier, the attention to plot and detail was weak. However, the story's magic and emotional impact were strong enough to overlook these weaknesses.

Starbright is fun, energetic, and vibrant, full of beautiful emotions, featuring courageous decisions, a powerful message, good special effects, convincing and somewhat engaging acting, and sensitive characters. I think all of this is enough to make its rating slightly above average.

You won't experience any negative side effects from watching it; in fact, you'll likely feel a sense of relief and happiness at the end.
